The Ohio Rex is an unusual cat bearing the wavy fur, and lacking the standard guard hairs. These two things distinguish the Rex breeds from other types of felines. The Ohio Rex first appeared in 1953, in the American state that bears its name. This breed was not developed, and has since become extinct. For these reasons, not much is written about this Rex breed. It has been suggested that the mutation that created the Ohio Rex, is the same found in the Devon and Cornish Rex. Since this breed is no longer in existence it is impossible to verify this claim, even though it does appear likely. |
