Animal Description: Breed Standard

Some consider the Cherubim to be a distinct breed of cat, but the majority of the research indicates that Cherubim are actually a classification of cats, rather than a distinct breed.

The word 'Cherubim' is the plural form of Cherub. Cherubim have several definitions, one being 'beautiful children'. Depicted as angels, traditional Cherubim have graced art for centuries. Like their namesakes the Cherubim cats are beautiful and angelic. Ann Baker, the creator of the Ragdoll cat uses this term 'Cherubim' to describe all of the different breeds she has created because of their sweet dispositions. The most widely known breeds created by Ms. Baker are the Honeybear and the Ragdoll.
